As a special courtesy to our passengers booked on an itinerary with a longer transit time in Amman (QAIA), Royal Jordanian airlines may provide hotel accommodation, meal and ground transportation from/To airport hotel if the following general conditions apply:
General Conditions for Providing Hotel Accommodation
Royal Jordanian shall bear the expenses of layover services when transferring at Amman (AMM/ QAIA),) provided the following general conditions are met:
1. Passenger must be travelling on RJ/512 ticket stock where the itinerary is on an RJ marketed or RJ operated flight.
2. Royal Jordanian will bear the expenses of layover services for a maximum of two transfer points only, provided that AMMAN must be one of those transfer points, to cover transit time in QAIA and for a maximum of one night.
3. Passenger must be travelling on published and non-promo economy fares on classes (Q,N,S,V,L,M,K,H,B,Y), premium economy class (W, F) or on business class fares on
classes (J,C,D,I,Z).
4. Royal Jordanian will not bear layover expenses when travel is on Group (G-class), or on promotional fares on those classes (O,P,R, W) across RJ network unless an exception with a tour code has been provided from Commercial Department.
5. Royal Jordanian will not bear layover expenses for passengers holding rebated tickets issued at any discount (AD, ID, DG, TG, RG, CG)
6. When traveling is on an issued Award Tickets (U & X) classes, passengers are eligible for hotel accommodation.
7. Upgraded tickets on U class are eligible for hotel accommodations.
8. The connecting time must be equal or exceeding eight (8) hours for economy & premium economy class, and six (6) hours for crown class passengers, and not more than twenty four (24) hours, and passenger shall be booked on first scheduled RJ flight. Passengers shall bear expenses if connection time exceeds twenty-four (24) hours.
Note: connecting time is based on the scheduled time of arrival
9. Layover services shall not be provided when same day connection is available and connection time is less than 8 hours for economy/ premium economy and 6 hours for business. Except for passengers travelling from/to North America, layover services shall be provided despite same day connection availability. However, if same day connection is available, passenger is to be offered a change of reservation to the available flight free of charge at transit desk. If passenger requests the change to an earlier flight in the sales office, passenger will be rebooked provided difference in fare and applicable penalties are collected from passenger.
10. Passengers who are not eligible for hotel voucher can purchase hotel voucher at transit desk in QAIA.
11. Royal Jordanian will not bear layover expenses for passenger(s) holding two separate tickets.
12. Royal Jordanian will not bear layover expenses for passengers who are not holding confirmed reservations on the next connecting flights.
Conditions for Providing Accommodation at USA/Canada gateways:
In addition to the above general conditions, Royal Jordanian shall bear the expenses of layover services when transferring at North America gateways (JFK, ORD, DTW, IAD, DFW, YUL, YYZ) with the below exceptions:
1. In case connecting flight is on other airlines and RJ is the delivering airline, & this procedure applies
2. When Royal Jordanian is the receiving carrier; passengers are not entitled forlayover services.
3. Hotel voucher in USA gateways is provided by USA stations only.
Conditions for Providing Accommodation at BKK station:
1. In case connecting flight is on other airlines and RJ is the delivering airline, & this procedure applies.
2. When Royal Jordanian is the receiving carrier; passengers are not entitled for layover services.
Accommodation in case of RJ flight delay
This provision also applies to transfer passengers whose originally scheduled transit time did not qualify for transit services under the standard transit/layover eligibility criteria, but whose transit time was extended due to an RJ-caused flight delay or disruption.
Where an RJ-caused delay or disruption extends a passenger's scheduled transit time by four (4) hours or more, the revised transit time may be used to determine eligibility for transit services in accordance with Section 01.21.03 (Transit Services Offered at AMMAN/QAIA).
Hotel accommodation may be approved when:
a. The transit time has been extended due to an RJ-caused delay or disruption of four (4) hours or more;
b. The revised transit time qualifies for hotel accommodation under Section (Transit Services Offered at AMMAN/QAIA).
Transit Services Offered at AMMAN/QAIA
The following table describes the services that shall be rendered to passengers transiting Amman/AQIA:

Note: For passengers affected by an RJ-caused delay or disruption of four (4) hours or more, the revised transit time may be used when applying the above transit services table to determine eligibility for transit services.
